The Food Raid (ask to join)

Post by Tranquil Rampart » 1/14/18 09:11 PM

The night was quiet, as quiet as any could get that was. The moon was high in the sky, a first quarter moon, but still enough to illuminate the dark night. That silent dark night was not to last, however. A few dozen ponies approached a gate, pulling a line of wagons and carriages. Ahead of them was one of the primary storage warehouses for the city of Canterlot. It was...an unexpected arrival, but they all wore lunar cloaks and looked to be passable to any unwatchful eye. However as they neared the gate a lunar guard at the gate signaled them to halt, and numerous others became quite cautious. Tension was building.

The one lone guard approached the convoy, looking at them with suspicion. He was not one to waste much time. "Identify yourselves!"

"At ease, we had enough of a rough day, handsome." Said a slick cool voice, the hooded pegasus at the lead said. "We got some hard earned winnings from a raid on the rebels. Some spices even! Make your mouth water to ju-"

"We were never notified of any delivery to be made. I need ID and prepare for inspection!"

The lead pony visibly sighed and shrugged. "Oh come now. We traveled a fair dist-"

"Brenner." Said a low voice from the back of the covered wagon. "Just get on with it." The wagon shifted visibly as something heavy moved to get out.

The one named Brenner sighed again. "Shame, what a handsome fellow. Come over her and take a look."

The gate guard signaled for a few others to approach, keeping his eyes on the lead wagon. Just as him as a few others arrived, something stepped out. Something big.

The first thing they saw were the...paws that hit the ground before them, nearly as big as an average ponys head, steel plates shingled over it. From there it was nearly nothing but steel plate, a tower shield strapped to his left leg, then more steel following it up to the chest, around the neck and then, to that head. The helmet guard face guard was up, but the face....was deceptively gentle looking, despite the canine muzzle and nose, all marks of a predator. His face was of sorrow, as if a sympathetic bearer of bad news. He looked at the few guards that approached, shaking his head.

"I am sorry..."

The lead guards face went wide with shock, jaw dropping. "I-its The Wolf, The Rampa-"

He never got to finish his sentence, the claws of the wolf's swipe going across his neck and face. He would bleed out in moments. Then came his mace, being drawn by his maw over his shoulder and crushing the head of another. The third guard started to back up, right into Brenner, whom had already drawn a saber.

"Sorry handsome." He dove in toward him to take a slice at his neck. All at once the ponies of the convoy erupted into action, ripping their cloaks off to reveal their green and grey colors. The colors of the Gallant resistance. The small army of fighters grabbed a stockpile of shields and weapons from the wagons and carts, shielding themselves from incoming fire. A few mages went to work on throwing up smoke screens as they began to push the carts in closer to the gate.

"I think I could have talked him down, Tranquil." Said Brenner nonchalantly, a smirk on him as always.

Tranquil immediately began to advance and survey the battle. "Brenner, you know we are not here for that. Do your part. Inform Merit we are engaged and he can start his operation when the time is right."

Brenner sighed once more. "...Tranquil...Be careful. I want you making it back to us." He said before taking off into the air, flying directly away from the conflict.

Tranquil paused, looking at the battle unfolding. The blood and carnage starting to unfold. Violence was never something Tranquil ever cared for. It broke the tranquility and peace that he so desired. Yet he was one of the best ponies for the job. He did it because he could do it well, so that others didn't have to, but as violence became his life, it infected him, just like his lycanthropy. The thrill of the battle was feeding the wolf in him, the blood lust, the sustenance to his other form. It terrified him to not only start living off it, but to start desiring it. Each night, every moment of the moonlight on him was driving him closer to the edge. And here? Now? He felt it growing again. Tonight, the wolf would walk freely. For now.

It had been little over a week since Nightmare Moon had dispatched Despair to the City of Canterlot. Her orders were to ensure that the populace was staying in line, and that the food storage was secure and accounted for correctly. Her, a mare born to kill and destroy, forced to do such a lowly pathetic job of baby sitting a city of fools. The thought made her grind her teeth as she stood atop of Canterlot's many spires, looking down at the city she despised so much from a balcony ledge. She was a hunter of rebels, slayer of heros, not some security manager! Oh, and she had 'rules' too; such as no public executions, no torturing, no beating, nothing that would stain their image as they worked to win over the hearts and minds of Equestria. She was the wrong mare for this job, but she did produce results nevertheless.

The quiet of the night was suddenly pierced by the sounds of shouting from somewhere in the city, followed by the faint clashing of steel. For the first time in over a week, Despair smiled. Her lips curling up to form a cold grin as bells and alarms started to ring across the city. She couldn't help but to laugh as she looks out across the city, spying the fight from her high vantage point. Her horn starts to glow as she jumps off the tower, a evil smirk on her face as disappears in a flash.

Colors and shapes blur around her for a second before she reappears on top of the gate, startling a Lunar Archer who looks at her in surprise as he almost drops his crossbow. The guard starts to frown until he locks eyes with Despair, his jaw dropping as his eyes go wide. "M-Ma'am! The rebels are attacking!"

She frowns in annoyance, rolling her eyes at the guard with a growl. "Yeah, no shit. Tell me something I don't know; where is the officer in charge here?"

The stallion points his hoof towards the warehouse, opening his mouth to say something right as an arrow embeds itself into his neck. He falls to the ground with a thud as Despair looks down at him with a huff. "Conversation was boring me anyways.."

She turns to look over parapet and down at the rebel force, forming a small magical barrier to deflect anymore on coming arrows that might hit her. Her eyes scanned through the smoke screen, catching glimpses of the green cloaked rebels and carts, before finally spotting a large armored.. wolf? Her lips would curl up once more into a smile as she stared down the beast before smoke concealed him too. "Oh~? The Wolf leading an attack? This ought to be fun~" She says with a twisted laugh.

"Eeny, meeny, miny, moe.." Flames spew off her horn and form into a large ball of fire. She frowns as she scans the for the wolf once more, then shrugs and launches the ball of fire straight into the heart of the smoke.

"Catch a.. wolf.. by the toe~" She launches another fireball, watching it disappear into the smoke before exploding.

"If he hollers..." She already had a third fireball ready to fire as she stood looking down, smiling darkly.

".. make him scream.."

Sides had been drawn, for one reason or another ponies had chosen which flag to rally under. Some, it was personal gain to get a higher status in the new world, and some it was personal vengeance. For Kadai.. he was the Queen's Wrath. It wasn't a light title he carried.. and it wasn't easily earned. He paid for it with blood, tears, and the loss of his brethren. Nightmare Moon had power, and carried beliefs that her followers.. followed. Such power was like a flame, and Kadai, a moth that was drawn to it. Kadai had been a simple follower, loyal, and devout to Nightmare Moon as one of her soldiers. He proved himself by demonstrating his leadership skills by partaking in sieges across Equestria. He became Nightmare Moon's Wrath where she could not be present. Kadai upheld her will.. whether or not she wanted a town razed to the ground, key ponies executed or captured, she only need send an order for the Wrath to carry out her wish. To be trapped upon the moon for a thousand years.. he sympathized for her. He felt angry for her. He loved her like a maternal figure and like a good son, listened to her. He had one order; to stop the Rebellion.

The Wrath had been in Canterlot sniffing down a lead while on the trail for the elusive Pink One when news of an attack upon the warehouses reached his ear. He had no rules. No restraint. He wasn't given one, for he was Nightmare Moon's Wrath, and it was his job to install fear upon both sides. 'It is better to be feared than loved, if you cannot be both.' When words failed, he was allowed to use his own methods to exact results.

Kadai had his own execution force; primarily made up of the most loyal soldiers within Nightmare Moon's force. It was a mixture of veteran swordsponies, marksmen, and adept unicorns that had a special use. They all looked up at him, as if awaiting his orders. His primary goal was to find the Pink One and deal with them appropriately. But, he couldn't ignore an attack that could potentially be tied to his own case. "Alright.. settle down, I know you're getting wet at the sound of a fight. I'm getting a little hard myself.." Kadai grunts as he fixes his helm upon his head. It was fashioned into an elegant form of a snarling dragon, with two horns that curved backwards. The Wrath wore full plate armor that was suitable for his close quarter fighting style. (ref: https://wiki.ffxiv-roleplayers.com/imag ... ragoon.jpg )

"Do it." It was a simple order, one that the unicorns in his force had known from the time the news came in. The Wrath didn't run from a fight. Their horns lit up as they all cast a teleportation spell that carried them to the Warehouses. The execution force had been teleported ground level, but Kadai had been put further up, as he always wished to be able to survey the field. From his position, he watched the local garrison fight the green and grey armored ponies. With each beat of his wings, more and more died. But he had to be patient.. where was the leader? Who was it?

The sight of fireballs being lobbed had caught his eye. Was that..? Oh for the love of Nightmare Moon WHY WAS SHE HERE?! Snarling, Kadai angled himself down into a quick dive. If there was one thing that Kadai loved; it was a dramatic entrance. Thanks to a good friend who was an armor smith, and equally skilled at applying magical wards, the Wrath's armor was able to handle a large amount of shock. It showed as he slammed into the ground, flinging concrete and debris in every which way. Staring at the smoke cloud, the Wrath slowly stood up, hoof reaching back to his axe before pointing the blade forward, "By the order of Nightmare Moon, the Queen of Eternal Night, ruler of Equestria.. I sentence you all to.. death." He called with a snarl upon his face, the last word he had drawn out as if he savored it.

Far behind him, his own Execution force were locked in combat with the rebel forces.. but those were the swords ponies and marksmen. The unicorns were focusing on a spell, one that would be noticed if they all looked up. Slowly, a containment field was being magically wrought to life; one that would envelop the area to prevent escape. Whoever this new key player was, Kadai wanted them dead or alive. No one escapes. And he was the bait until the spell was cast. Not to mention, in his annoyance, he didn't want his 'friend' to take all the glory.

Soldiers shouted and screamed as the battle raged. Arrows flying and magic spells being thrown that would extinguish a ponies life. If there was one thing that was signature about the Gallant Rebels it was that they were very defensively prepared. Shields were distributed to almost every soldier and put to good use, even forming shield formations but scattering before a mage could blast them apart. The unicorns focused on repelling incoming fire and putting up temporary shields. It was all quite an effective defensive force...however that was the strange part. A force that fights defensively when besieging. With their armor and tactics they were making sure every last man counted and lasted as long as possible. Only a few seemed to be actively focusing on bringing the gate down, pushing one of the wagons up toward the gate.

Tranquil did not move far from where he stood initially when the smoke went up. A fireball soon was scorching his way. He growled and braced himself, his shield going up meeting it. A nearby pony caught unawares was quickly torched, screaming and burning. Tranquil, however, brushed off the attack, some of his fur burned but otherwise looking unharmed. He fell back a bit, away from his troops where he had more freedom of movement.

A flash, and then, more shouts and fighting. Tranquil was just spotting the mage that was throwing fireballs before one of his soldiers begged his attention.

"Sir, enemy reinforcements are here! It might be the Lunar Wrath."

Tranquil narrowed his eyes, growling to himself before taking a breath to calm his lust for battle. "Good. My brother is in the clear then. Brenner should be giving him the signal now. Our success is very likely. Get ready to fight for your lives. Every second we hold, the better."

Without much more a moment wasted, he charged into the new reinforcements, finally letting that inner rage that the wolf had been building up in him go. His mace swung wide, throwing ponies aside now with shattered bones, and his shield was as much a weapon as it was armor. His claws ripped through those not careful enough to keep their distance. Even as attacks were thrown his way they deflected off his armor and shields. The few that found their mark were simply met with a grunt and soon met their demise. Just the sheer weight of his body charging into troops was causing havoc, and even then he still looked like he was restraining himself.

The effects of the potion Esmira had given her had started to wane as Kitty stepped into the Crow’s Call. A few familiar eyes locked on her as the door shut behind her, place was its usual brand of slow. Talon’s gaze rose up from his thick ledger and widened significantly, following her as she crossed the tavern to the bar. Her wings drooped and her hooves started to feel numb.

“Kitty!” Talon all but shouted. “You… You're alive!”

“Sorry to disappoint,” she muttered back.

“I meant…” Talon sighed, anger seeping through his surprise and... was that relief? “I'm glad you're ok. What happened?”

Kitty leaned forward, pulling Talon close with a hoof. “Anyone suspicious been around? Not the usual bloody or shifty sort but the kind you'd get on ‘royal business’.”

“No…” Talon’s fuzzy eyebrows furrowed. “What the hell are you into? Where have you been?”

Kitty filled him in over a cool mug of pear cider, sweet and just what she needed for a long rest. She told him everything in a soft whisper, filling out the more incriminating slices of her story with signs and double talk. He hung on her words, not even his stoic nature could hide the apparent dread shining in his eyes only to be replaced by genuine anger.

“Good riddance to the traitor,” he muttered when she finished. “What are you going to do? If that witch is right, you're in danger. Serious danger. I know some people that can help you disappear, get you out of Canterlot.”

Kitty scoffed at that. “Not running Talon. Never again,” she added darkly and slid off the stool. “I'm headed to bed. Oh!." You seen Leech? She signed.

Basement. Held up for a few days.

Kitty trotted up the stairs to her closet sized room. She pulled out Esmira’s charm and was more than a little relieved to find her room free of enchantment, what's more it hadn't wanted in the bar either so that was a good sign too. Barren, and dark with only a chest with the clothes she'd collected over the years rested at the foot of the small cot. A coal dusted window overlooked the alleyway and an old candle rested on the dusty sill. She sloughed off her layers of clothing and fell into the musty covers only to have unconsciousness take her in seconds.

“Celestia’s molten cunt you are alive!” Leech exclaimed when Kitty found the energy to crawl out of bed and into the Call’s basement. He’d set up shop behind an old fake panel that had been a speakeasy for the previous owner, his back to the dark, jagged tunnel entrance cut into the wall.

“Was there ever any doubt?”

“The old chapel was raided by Shards the night you vanished Kitty,” Leech said, deadly serious. “Madam might be dead and her crew is definitely either ash or in the wind. We thought you'd been caught and was in the middle torture session eighty something. Or dead. Thought about chancing a walk to the Azora for a glimpse of your flayed corpse.” Leech sipped from the bottle beside him. He reeked of cheap wine.

“Talon says you were under the care of the Greymoore witch. You ain't a zombie is ya?”

“Still alive,” Kitty muttered. More than that she felt great after taking the last vial Esmira gave her. There was a clatter up stairs like a door slamming near off its hinges. In a flash of sickly green magic a pair of wickedly sharpened daggers appeared above Leech’s head, suddenly blue tinged eyes wide with fear. Kitty’s wings bristled, her feathers tightening around the array of stilettos hidden within them. She made for the ladder up, the false wall closing behind.

A sweat drenched stallion in ragged robes sat panting before the bar. Talon passed him a mug of cool water as several ponies clustered around the wide eyed earth pony. “Fighting has broken out in the warehouse district with the Rampart leading the charge! We need to help them!”

Kitty rolled her eyes and relaxed. She trotted up to the bar and pulled a bottle of whiskey from over the counter and helped herself to a pull from it. She plopped herself on the stool.

“After the losses we suffered this month do you really think that wise?” Some mare asked in a trembling voice.

Cheers sounded around the room. “We should!” “For Celestia!” “For the Solar Throne!” Kitty eyed the door. Hope no one hears this on the street. She drank deeply from the bottle relishing the familiar warmth spreading through her throats and chest.

“Silence all of you,” Talon hissed sharply. He focused his rigid gaze on the panting stallion. “Are you sure of all this? You've seen the Rampart fighting with your own eyes?”

“Yes Talon.” He looked a little insulted. “The time for hiding in the shadows is over, we need to act!”

“Show the Nightmare and her dogs the power of the Sun!” “Death to the traitors!” Kitty saw more than a few rusty blades, makeshift shivs and a blackjack or two wave through the air. Talon quieted them a second time.

“You bunch want to go up against trained soldiers with that sad collection of rickidink tools. Please…” Kitty laughed. “I get first dibs on whatever coin is on your dumbasses.”

“You faithless bitch,” the panting stallion muttered finding his energy. Talon stopped him with a stern hoof, shaking his head. “You would see the Nightmare rule then? Should we suspect you then? We’ve heard you disappeared. How do we know you haven't turned the coat?”

Kitty locked eyes with him, silver orbs encompassing her eyes as the slit of her pupil became razor thin. She slid off the stool and was face to face with him in one smooth motion. “I don't give two fucks what alicorn’s sitting on the throne. They don't give a shit about me so I say turnabout is fair play.”

On that note, I won't give up the Call no matter the torture. Anyone of ya even hint at that again, won't be the Nightmare ya worrying about killing ya. It'll be me and I'll do the job with my bare hooves.”

She pulled away from the quivering colt. He seemed fit to piss himself. Kitty sneered and was back on her stool a second later. Talon scowled darkly at her and she shrugged.

“We need to help them,” Talon finally said, breaking the charged silence. “And we’re gonna need someone who knows what they're doing if we have a chance of being any use. Kitty I wanna hire you. The jobs a back alley knifing, you're something of a genius in that regard.” He sat a bag of bits on the counter. “Was a rainy day fund and it looks like it's pouring. Three hundred now, another three hundred when you get back. Make sure the Rampart and his group get what they have to safety. If their in the warehouse district then that means their target is the food supply. Help em get it here, they'll be able to pull a vanish with it with ease around here.”

Kitty stared at the bag and grinned. “Deal.” She extended a hoof and Talon bumped it before snagging the bag of bits. The deal was struck and some of her substantial loss was . “Get your ponies together and at least make an effort in finding better weapons. Meet me out by Platinum Road.”

She flew up the stairs to her room and opened her chest. From the bottom she pulled a heavy stiffened shirt with a high, thick collar and a thick leather bodice lined with thin plates of iron stitched along the barrel. She pulled on leather bracers, each with a sliver of iron extended out to give her strikes some weight. A matching set of rear leg guards came out of the trunk next. It'd been a while since she wore this particular outfit, the kind of thing you wore when you expected trouble; Kitty knew she'd get some use out of in the coming months. She flexed her wings and tested a hover; just as snug as the day she had it made. Kitty pulled a ruddy long coat out, shook it once, and donned it. She slipped the allsight charm into one of the many pockets. Without a moment to waste she opened her window and flew out into the night toward Platinum Road.

Kitty found the rag tag group of twenty or so ponies loitering around the alleys, keeping to the shadows. She landed deftly earning her a fair amount of wild stares and even more pulled their weapons. She noted a fair amount of light alley pieces, crossbows fit for quick kills. They were wary, good. She led them through the streets toward the warehouses through alleys and derelict buildings.

Soon the sound of fighting carried on the wind. Kitty told them to wait and climbed to the roof, crouching low she could make out a fierce battle fought around a wagon. The air was charged with magic and even blocks away she could feel the warmth of fire magic. Her fur stood on end. They'd have to fight dirty to mean anything in this fight. Once back in the ground she addressed the ragtag group.

“Alright ya stiff necks listen up,” she said. “You got an alley piece, make for the rooftops and start drawing some attention hit those Pegasi, keep on the bloody move. Fire then run like hell. Oh and if you got a unicorn in your sights take the shot.” The few unicorns in the group scowled but said nothing “The rest of ya follow me. We’re gonna jack ourselves a cart. First we hit the unicorn loyalists from behind. They should be focused on this Rampart guy. Oh and no fucking heroics, we go in quiet and slit throats. No crying out “For the Sun” or some shit like that. Do that and I'll crack your skulls myself. Got it?”

Everyone nodded, most shook from fear or anticipation she couldn't tell.

“Let's do something stupid then.” She led her small group of eleven through the alleyways to the fight. Kitty felt herself start to tremble too. Celestia did she want to break someone’s muzzle.

Despair stared out at the smoke, waiting for a clear shot as she held her fireball above her head... then she frowned slowly. Why where they holding their position, did they want to die? She shrugged, that cruel smile returning as she looks down to see one of the carts getting closer to the gate. She launched the fire ball straight at it, causing it to explode and send flaming shards of woods into the few Rebels nearest to it.

She would blink in confusion as another garrison of Nightmare's troops teleport in with a flash, her head tilting as she raises an eyebrow. Her eyes quickly look upwards, spying the Wrath as he swoops down and makes his dramatic entry, what a drama queen.. She lets out growl and hops off the gate, landing softly on the ground with some aid from her magic. Furious, she storms towards the Wrath, her lips curling back in a snarl. A nearby rebel ran towards her, his sword raised to strike her down, as he let out some battle cry no doubt. The small dark mare didn't even bother to look at him, her magic reaching out to grip the rebel's helmet and crush it like a tin can around his head, sending him crashing to ground with a pile of bloody goo.

"Wrath! You're in my way! Nightmare wouldn't be pleased with me if I killed her 'toy soldier'.." She says with a growl, walking up alongside of him to stare into the smoke. "It's the Wolf.. hiding like the little pup he is, somewhere in the smoke... Err.. speaking of which.."

Her horn lights up, painting the area in a red hue as the air around her starts to move, sucking in small debris from the area and tugging at the cloaks of those nearby. Her horn pulls in more air, creating a fake wind around her that started to reach to speeds of a tornado. With a evil grin, she channels the fast wind into a large blast at the smoke screen, aimed straight at the heart of the annoying cloud. The blast carried arrows and small rocks with it, knocking down anyone in it's way as it hits the smoke screen, dispersing the smoke and crashing against the rebels hiding inside.

Twin golden hues stared at Despair as she stormed towards him, her own eyes alight with insolence where the Wrath's own were a cold conviction. "In your way? You would do well to remember your place, pawn.. lest I have to remind you of that." He said with a sneer before nodding upwards, just a hair, for her to get the impression that this all was a trap. Should the magical barrier complete itself, nothing was getting in, or out. The Wrath had some of the best spell casters with him, along with an elite detachment of Nightmare Moon's chosen. They would not go down easily.

Once again turning his attention to the cloud of smoke, he watched silently as Despair caused carnage with her spell before noticing in the corner of his eye, the Wolf smashing into some of the regulars, knocking them aside like broken toys. In the back of his head, he knew they were just canon fodder.. but at the same time, they were his brethren. For now, he had to swallow his ire. He couldn't deny the power.. and the potential of having these foes as allies.

The Wrath was putting his own head on the line. Should something be real lucky, and off him, then one of the heads of the chimera would be cut. It would be a devastating blow. But it wouldn't come to that. He knew the risks of being the bait, the risks of the task he had been given by his Queen. He was one of her chosen for a reason. Taking in a breath, the stallion walked away from Despair in a calm like state as he went and stood in the path of the wolf. Most ponies knew about the Wrath. The stories.. the tales. One of Nightmare Moon's most loyal soldiers. Raising his axe in a challenge, the Wrath faced the Wolf. "Stop this madness and face me yourself! You want these warehouses? You go through me." To the opposition, killing the Wrath and destroying the Warehouses was two birds with one stone. An opportunity that shouldn't be dismissed. But, he had one more thing to say before it would go down.

"I do not know who you are.. but if you lay down your arms and swear oaths of loyalty to the Queen in the magical tongue, I will spare you all. You are valiant fighters.. for the wrong cause. Instead you target food supplies that help feed the citizens. Unarmed citizens. Their starvation would be upon your hooves and.. paws. Do you want that? Innocent blood spilled. You look like knights.. once upon a time. Did you not have honor? Open your eyes.. you fight for a terrorist cause! Each strike you deal only weakens your cause! I know your ideals.. you used to run on hope.. hope that Equestria can be reunited with Night and Day. That blind reckless hope has killed thousands of innocents. They fear you.. you know. More than us." Sighing, he shook his head slowly, "I'll ask you one more time. I'm a stallion of my word, and honor. Lay down your arms, and no further blood will be spilled."

It would probably be surprising to hear him say that. The Wrath. Reasoning? He had more than brawn with him. He wouldn't be one of Nightmare Moon's chosen if he always showed reckless abandon. Besides, he knew that they could be a potential strong ally. All he wanted was a swift end to this pathetic war. Right now he was trying a subtle approach to defuse the current situation. But if words fail..

The cart exploded larger than intended from Despair's fireball. Clearly it had been carrying explosives intended for the gate. Those nearby were blow to bits, however the rest remained firm. When the smoke was blow away, rocks and arrows with it, the clearing showed an impressive formation of two columbs, two ranks deep with soldiers forming a wall with shields in front of and above them, further fortified by a few unicorns in each rank to protect against anything that may try to take out more of them.

They slowly marched forward, Sir Tranquil Rampart at the front, clearing away the brunt of any force that tried to challenge him. He also seemed to be acting as bait, putting himself in front of all his troops alone, risking his own life before the rest of his own soldiers. Having gotten the time and cover needed to form up and arm themselves, they now approached the main force ready to do battle.

Tranquil already looked a little bloodied, though it was hard to tell with the blood already on him from his foes. The initial volley from Despair did scuff him up some but there was no wavering at all in his stance. When the Lunar Wrath addressed them, he paused, looking up and held a paw up, signaling his forces to stop. The Wolf, as vicious and blood thirsty as he looked, perked his ears up, listening to the proposal, the reasoning offered to them.

Once his words were done, there was a deadly silence. The Wolf standing there, starring at The Lunar Wrath with his predatory eyes. He put his mace back over his back into its holster and regarded him and their forces, his expression not changing. One step forward. Then another. And another. He slowly approached the Lunar Wrath until he was no more than then paces away. The size difference between them was quite clear. There was no telling how much of a pony was left in him, but it must have been quite large before. His shoulder would be to the Lunar Wraths ear tips.

"I always wondered if we would meet....The Lunar Wrath...offering us peace...Do you really think that is possible?" He grumbled and let out a sigh, as if dissapointed in the situation. "Peace was a wonderful time before this...And now further we are driven to rage, to wrath. I once knew peace. I know it because I practice war to keep it....But your moon...drives that peace away...and every night it slips me further into something like...you. Wrath." He grit his teeth but let out a sigh once more, as if struggling with some inner dialogue of his own. "I know what Wrath you are capable of, what earned your namesake. I doubt there will be peace. I came here with wrath of my own!"

He growled and crouched lower, shield at the ready. His eyes glanced up at the magic barrier beginning to finally fall around them. "I have a counter proposal for you, Lunar Wrath. Fight me alone in one on one combat, two beasts of wrath of the night and we will see who earns the right to this piece of land!" Tranquil snarled, his lust for battle beginning to grow. His job was nearly done now. All he had to do was...fight.

Kitty and her small group made the long way around the ensuing battle. They did their damnest not to be noticed by the pegasi ripping each other to pieces in the skies intent to flank the loyalist unicorns. Kitty hissed for them to halt as she peeked her head around a corner, eyes taking in a confusing scene. Smoke surrounded the cart and much of the rebel force but they didn't seem to budge. Usually the smart thing to do was to have a group moving the cart of stolen goods while others distracted your mark. This bunch just stood around fighting the loyalists and dying horrible by the looks of it. Was this just some elaborate suicide or what? Then the smoke gave way to fiery explosion, she could feel the intense heat from where she stood. Illuminated by the fiery was a stallion, massive, handsome, and fierce stood before the loyalists as if daring them to take him. She felt her feathers ruffle at how wrong this all felt.

The familiar twange of crossbows filled the air above as the other half of her ragtag group of suiciders started their own assault. The other must have heard it because many stepped forward. Several unicorns stood back around a dark furred mare almost as small as Kitty flinging fireball after fireball into the rebel force their backs to Kitty’s group. With any luck they hadn't been noticed. Now or never. Without another moment’s hesitation, Kitty gave the order. The fools slunk past her, bellies low to the ground with Kitty followed after, eyes scanning, waiting. She knew something was up and the second she knew exactly what it was, her wings would carry her out and away.

Despair caught the Wrath tiny head movement, a smile growing on her lips as she pieces it together. Yet, she could never afford to miss up a chance to belittle the royal ass-kisser. "Learn my place? My dear, you are just as replaceable as I am.. try to remember that.."

She gives him a cruel smile as he steps forward and gives his little speech before the traitors, the whole thing making Despair roll her eyes and growl. She hadn't been choosen by Nightmare Moon, she had been created and trained by the Dark Queen to kill her enemies without hesitation. The Wrath promised them mercy, but Despair would give them a noose instead. The dark thought made her chuckle as she watched the Wolf slowly approach the Wrath, perhaps he would need replacing sooner than she thought. She stood there and listened to what the Wolf had to say, speaking of peace and times before the moon, the whole conversation making her quite bored and impatient.

"Will you two go ahead and make love already; if the Wrath dies I'll just kill you myself dog. There will be no peace tonight, your solider's bodies will hang from the Castle as decorations and every single one of their families members will be punished as justice for their crimes, yours included dog."

She looks back at the Wrath, talking in a lower tone. "You would be a fool to fight him alone, he has you outclassed in weight and size. Let me have him, I want to how well that fur burns.."
